About Equity Books

Bobby-Joe Zeiberg, CPA is the sole owner and operator of Equity Books. They have a unique perspective on accounting and finances from completing a Major in Economics and Minor in Gender, Race, Sexuality and Social Justice while earning their Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of British Columbia. Having earned their CPA designation in January 2023, they are ready to bring the knowledge they have accumulated while working in industry and public practice to help folks from all backgrounds become financially empowered.

As an agender and queer individual who is a descendant of a diasporic community, Bobby-Joe understands the effects of intergenerational trauma and recognizes the complicated ways in which marginalization and privilege intersect. As a white person, they acknowledge the inherent privilege they carry and are committed to learning the histories of communities of colour and unlearning the inherent biases and microaggressions passed down from generation to generation.

The road to financial empowerment is unique to one's identity, experience and education level. We believe in a collaborative approach to creating this road to empowerment for folks from all backgrounds. Doing this work with individuals from marginalized communities is the ultimate dream.

All the terms used in the financial world can be really intimidating if you haven't gone to business school or you aren't a math wiz. We use accessible language to breakdown financial concepts and make them approachable for all, regardless of ones background.

The financial world has not traditionally been accessible to marginalized communities, with our approach and sliding scale rates we hope to aid in making it accessible to all.

Our mission is to work with individuals and business that hold similar values, together we can create a culture of accountability in which we uphold our values in the ways we work, play and relate with each other.
